Danilo Ursini’s art is highly imaginative, dreamlike and flirts with the sub-conscious, resulting in works that are curious, dark, and whimsical. His paintings are immediately recognizable, highly textured with a heavy brush that is both decisive and free. Primarily using black and white, his works are unquestionably contemporary, yet romantic while paying subtle homage to the technique of classics.
Danilo was born and raised in northern Italy where he exhibited his works at the Florence Biennale, with VOGUE Italia, the Louvre Carousel in Paris, and throughout Europe. He immigrated to Canada in 2011 for love, and has been recognized by Toronto’s artistic community for his creative talents. He is the Artist-in-Residence at the Spoke Club, performed a live installation for Scotiabank nuit blanche 2013, a multiple winner of the SNAP! photo competition, and has participated as an artist in AGO First Thursdays, and Art Battle Canada.
