When I first began to create my own work, I was strongly influenced by pop art and the artist's ability to borrow, interpret, decronstruct and reconstruct images to form new ideas and new meanings. As I have aged and grown, I have applied this reasoning to my life as well as my work, breaking down how we use images to present and represent our own feelings and ideas about our selves, our identity, our reality and the world in which we live. My works are indicative of my continuing love of pop art, and how it's techniques can be applied to express complexity in simplicity, and colour the modern gaze.
