Maggie Broda

I am Maggie Broda, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design University. While studying Drawing and Painting I met a strong collective of diverse artists many have been influential in my work. As an advocate for the environment and education TD Canada Trust Friends of the Environment acknowledged my art with successive funding by Friends of the Environment,l I consider abstracts, figurative, and impressionist work as part of my inspirations. I paint with bold impasto style and colour. I was a member of OCAD University’s Board of Governors and of The Muskoka Arts and Craft Group, Women’s Art Association of Canada, where my art appears regularly in member’s shows. I am represented in Toronto by Elaine Fleck Gallery on Queen St West.
"Creating art is a passion for me. I’ve always been an artist. Each painting I do has style by design and when applying colour and medium, most often acrylic, I prefer a palette knife, building texture and depth to create changes through light."
