Mark Buck

MARK BUCK is a Toronto born artist. He has been interested in art for over forty-five years. In 1970, he won second prize for Canada in the United Nations International contest called “Education Changes Things” with his metal-chrome sculpture “Mushroom of Knowledge.”
In 1982, Mark established First Impressions Gallery (1982-1991). After operating as a private dealer for two years Mark opened First Impressions as a gallery that specialized in International Contemporary Works on Paper until 1991. He operated ARTALOG as a retail gallery from September 1993 to August 1995. It was Canada’s first Virtual Art Gallery. Beginning in 1999 to the present Mark has been volunteering at the Royal Ontario Museum monthly speaking about a number of objects in their collection.

From 2001 to now Mark is employed as a supply/ substitute art and history high school teacher with both the TDSB and YRDSB.
