Rey Saem

Rey Saem was born in Iceland in 1956. He studied architecture in Copenhagen, Denmark and graduated in 1988. As a member of the Architect Union, he curated many exhibitions which included architecture and art from 1989 until 1993. Later, he started painting and making sculptures. He moved to Toronto in 2009 and continued painting. His first art show was in September 2017 at Gallery 1313, called Five. This refers to the fact that when he was five years old, he decided to leave my family and move to the moon, build a house on the moon and start fishing for stars. His first show included a 6 foot moon, with the house on top and a cave from which he was fishing. The medium was glue and foam on board.

Since then, he has been working in abstract expressionism in mixed media and writing a book.
